The Mudgee Hospital redevelopment is moving into the construction phase with work on the new building scheduled for this month. The old Community Health building has been removed in readiness for the new facility, which has been approved by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.

"Early works, demolition and site preparations are almost complete and works are on schedule for construction of the new building to start in March," a Health Infrastructure Spokesperson said.

"The new facility will provide the people of Mudgee with contemporary hospital facilities including the Emergency Department and Inpatient Units along with community health and dental services. These services will all now be provided in the one facility.

"The hospital has worked closely with the Mid-Western Regional Council and a range of local businesses, community groups and residents during the planning phases of the project. We appreciate their involvement and support, and look forward to continuing to work with them during the construction phase."
