This project comprised the development of a five-star luxury hotel in the village of Hirafu, containing 31 suites over seven levels plus 250m² of retail space. The development is within easy reach of the ski slopes and village facilities. Hirafu is located on the Mt. Niseko snowfields, which boasts some of Asia’s best ski conditions. Hutchinson Builders’ role on the project was both the Project Manager and Client Representative.
The sale of the units included a full furnishing package; the contents of which Hutchies purchased in Australia, Japan and China, and then installed on site.
The challenges encountered on this project included everything from adhering to the different planning and design regulations to overcoming language barriers. Additionally, Hutchies was required to provide a design which would handle the temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions that the region experiences.
Hutchinson Builders successfully delivered the project on time and within budget, providing the Client with a high level of quality finishes and fittings.
