Hutchinson Builders vs Hutchies
Hutchies is a nickname we're really proud of. We've traced it back to the early days of Hutchies' Yard in West End in the 1950s. Its rare that brands become so well known that people shorten their name colloquially, so its something we wear with pride. Think of it like Maccas, Woolies and Coke — all huge brands that have owned the nicknames people have given them through strong branding.
We happily go by either — and both are legal trading names.
Our general rule of thumb is mixing between the two when writing about the company to avoid too many repeats.
Hutchies is our colloquial name and is often heard in conversation. Hutchinson Builders can be used in more formal settings.
This logo can be used in casual and informal situations like sponsorships, campaigns, internal communications and anywhere our other two primary logos aren't really suited.
